Vodafone Wireless Broadband

Vodafone were one of the pioneers of affordable wireless broadband for a decent download allowance. Their vision for a more accessible pricing structure saw prices tumble to around $39 per month for 5GB of data. The rest of the market soon followed and there has been massive uptake throughout Australia as we now pay a more reasonable price for wireless data.

Vodafone still has their star performing plan at $39.95 for 5GB, with a free USB modem on a 24 month plan. They have since added the 1GB plan, which is $19.95 per month with an additional $5 per month for the USB modem over 24 months. You can bundle your personal or business mobile phone with your Vodafone wireless broadband service, although it is not a requirement to get this pricing. 

Vodafone owns their own 3G network, which is continually expanding. By the end of 2008, Vodafone expects their 3G coverage to cover 95% of the population. Vodafone’s Data support is generally prompt, helpful and efficient in answering customer service enquiries.

Coverage

Vodafone has their own 3G network which is currently being expanded. If you leave Vodafone 3G coverage area, it is still possible to access the Vodafone GPRS network in msome locations, which will give you a dial up type speed for when you need it. For the latest coverage maps, click here.
