Optus Phone Plans for the HTC Dream – the Google Android Mobile Phone

So how good are the plans for the HTC Dream? We’re impressed and we think there is a good array of plans which will cater for the light to medium mobile phone users up to the heavy users.

‘yes’ Internet Cap Plans

The HTC Dream is available on the ‘yes’ $59 Internet Cap and ‘yes’ $79 Internet Cap + Unlimited Text plans. These plans are the cheapest option for getting a high powered PDA mobile phone like the HTC Dream. There are additional handset repayments to get the HTC Dream on these plans:

  • $59 Cap – $15 per month over 24 months or $51 over 12 months.
  • $79 Cap – $13 per month over 24 months or $49 over 12 months.

‘yes’ Internet Timeless Plans

$100 Credit on HTC Dream from Optus There are two options of plans under the Optus Timeless banner. FIrstly, the ‘yes’ Timeless $99 Internet Plan, which must be taken in conjunction with the $14.95 Internet Pack – so effectively you pay $113.95 per month. For this you get Unlimited* standard calls and SMS within Australia plus a huge 1.5GB of data. The handset repayments for the HTC Dream over 24 months are $9 or $45 over 12 months.

The second option is the ‘yes’ Timeless $129 Internet Plan, which includes the unlimited* calls and SMS as well as an incredible 3GB of data. The $129 Timeless plan also includes voicemail deposits and retrievals, whereas the $99 Timeless plan charges for Voicemail retrievals on top of the Cap. The handset repayments on the $129 Timeless plan for the HTC Dream over 24 months are $3 or $39 over 12 months.

Optus has a great Bonus Credit for signing up online. Here is the exact description from the Optus site about the bonus credits you can qualify for.

$100 Online Bonus Credit: Offer available to new and recontracting customers who connect online to a 24 month Optus ‘yes’ Internet Cap ($79), or ‘yes’ Internet Timeless Plan ($99, $129).

$50 Online Bonus Credit: Offer available to new and recontracting customers who connect online to a 24 month Optus ‘yes’ Internet Cap ($59).

Online bonus may take up to 3 months to apply and will appear as a credit on your bill.
