Hi Georgia,
the best way to see the cause of a higher bill than usual is to check out the summary pages on the invoice. You'll see a breakdown and itemisation of the charges. If it's still not making any sense or is an error, then call Vodafone on 1555 (free from your mobile) and they'll explain it/sort it out.

As for the messages not sending that could be your "message centre number" - if a digit has been accidentally erased then SMS won't send. Once again it's best to speak to Vodafone for troubleshooting on that one, but it should be pretty quick to sort out.

Hi,
I'm on this $45 a month plan and I have found it very good except my bill came through the other day and it said it was around $150. I haven't called anyone internationally or used the internet once. I have only been sending messages and calling personal numbers. Also my messages have stopped sending for some reason but I can still call people. I'm really confused, can you please help?

Hi Anthony,

If you have an iPhone 4 (or the downloaded operating system for the iPhone 3GS), you can run applications in the background. I don't know the details of this particular case, but it is possible that data was processing in the background.

You can do something about getting the bill reduced. The first thing to do is speak to Vodafone. If you are not satisfied with the outcome then asked to speak to a team leader or manager. If their response does also not satisfy you, then politely inform the team leader that you are still not satisfied and you are going to speak to the TIO. (www.tio.com.au). If you lodge a complaint with the TIO they will ask you if you have tried to resolve the issue with Vodafone first. Then they will try and get you in contact with someone senior at Vodafone who can discuss the issue with you. Hopefully you'll be able to sort it out so everyone is happy!

Just remember to be polite and take good notes of everyone you speak to at Vodafone and at the TIO, You want to have records of everything. Best of luck,

Luke

My wife has just been wacked with a $1000 bill (on the $45 infinite plan) becasue vodaphone claim that when she accessed the internet through her iphone that she failed to log off the internet properly. She accessed 2 websites which they say she stayed on for over 10 hours at a time, there is no real way to tell when you are using iphone that you have logged off. Is there any way we can appeal this bill???

Hi Elsie,

your questions are good ones! 1) The easiest way to check your remaining data for the month is to call 1555 from your mobile - that is included in your infinite plan. There may be an online checking tool, but I haven't tried that for ages, so best to ask Vodafone when you call them.
2) If you exceed your data allowance you won't be notified. So you'll be able to keep using data, but you'll be billed at 25 cents per MB (min 50KB session). So it's better just to check up and use within your data limit. And yes, the cost just appears on your next monthly bill.

Hope that helps!

Hi there,

I'm new to Vodafone plans so if my questions appear a little silly I apologise.

Just say I am on the $45 infinite plan with 1gb of data. Lets say 2 weeks into the month I've used up 650mb leaving me with 350mb. Q1) Is there anywhere I can find out how much data I have left? Q2) If I went over my allowed monthly quota, what happens? Will I be notified that I have gone over? Will I be disallowed to go over? or will this extra cost just appear in my next monthly bill?

Thanks in advance

Hi Khalid,

if I've understood you correctly, the included calls on the Infinite plans are to other mobile companies like Optus and Telstra as well as to landlines within Australia.

Cheers,

Luke
